Writing is an art.

But it's not impossible to get better at writing. Instead of learning different frameworks and hacks to write articles, stick to the basics.

Here are the 5 features of writing that will resonate with your readers.

Be Direct

Take the shortest path to prove your point. Don’t use sentences and spaces that don’t contribute to your idea.

Value the time of your readers.

Be Precise

Precise writing is interesting to read.

Don’t say “Research found that Many people feel sleepy after listening to rain sounds”

Say, “Research found that 90% of people feel sleepy after listening to rain sounds”

Number sticks to the brain, and makes the reading interesting.

Be Concise

Convey your idea with as few words as possible.

Be Confident

When a reader clicks on your article, they believe you will educate them.

Using words like “might be”, and “maybe” conveys you as an unsure person.

Reader will undermine your position, and probably not read you again.

Be Clear

It does not matter how impressive words you use, if you are not clear, you failed.

If your readers cannot understand what you write, you lose the game.
